Purewing Dynasty

The Purewing Dynasty is a royal family that reigns over Droirusai, a realm located in the heavens of the Mushroom World. The monarchs are good deities who are beloved by their subjects, and their main faithful include humans and Toads, although other individuals also worship them. Today, Lady Faoria Purewing is the rightful ruler of Droirusai, who is also the goddess of light worshipped by the Creed of Faoris.

________________________________________________________________________________

Creed of Faoris

The Creed of Faoris is a religious order dedicated to the worship of Faoria, the goddess of light worshipped by inhabitants of some realms such as the Mushroom Kingdom and others. It was founded many centuries ago, a few weeks after Faoria, the Warrior Angels (who would later become the Faoris Archangels) and the rest of their army defeated the Dark Legion.

Many millenniums ago, a pure-hearted and righteous human man was one of the survivors who saw Faoria Purewing during the war between her army and the Dark Legion. A few weeks later, he prayed for her guidance and eventually heard her voice speaking to him. The goddess chose him to be her first priest and the founder of a religious cult dedicated to her then-future worship and servitude, which the man agreed.

The first temple was built in what would later be known as the ancient ruins, many centuries later, at the request of the first Priest of Faoris, who encouraged other people to worship their then-newly discovered goddess. By learning prayers and other rituals from Faoria herself, the people of the Mushroom World earned the ability to have faith in the deities they worship. Thus, the Creed of Faoris was founded. Following the founding of the cult, Faoria ascended the Purewing Throne and took the title of Lady rather than that of the queen while the Warrior Angels retired from warriorhood and decided to stay at Purewing Citadel to serve the goddess. Now known as the Faoris Archangels, these former warriors would assist their lady by listening to their faithful’s prayers and aiding them while also having their own occupations.

The Creed of Faoris is one of the eldest religious orders of the Mushroom Kingdom, and the first known cult to be founded.

Faoria is also the one who blesses star children chosen to protect the Mushroom World from harms caused by threats they can deal with. In fact, at some point during the modern/contemporary era of said world, she blessed seven infants of different species (four human, one Kong, one Koopa, and one Yoshi). However, she had to undo the blessings she granted to Baby Wario and Baby Bowser after discovering the former's greed and the latter's sins and evil deeds. The five remaining star children, Baby Mario, Baby, Luigi, Baby Peach, Baby Donkey Kong, and a green baby Yoshi, manage to keep the goddess's blessing thanks to their pure hearts.

Purewing Citadel

The members of the Purewing Dynasty reside in the Purewing Citadel, a grand castle located in the heart of Droirusai. Its exterior walls are pure white stone, and its pale blue marble roofs are decorated with golden details. One of its rooms is a large, hexagonal temple with white marble flooring and an open roof. Its walls are golden, and stained glasses depicting each warrior angel adorn the windows. There is also a statue of King Zeus (whose soul is sealed inside it) in the middle, almost completely surrounded by the Saint Totems. This room is the place where a trial known as the Test of the Hianaris Tome (founded by Faoria) takes place.

The throne room has white walls, matching marble flooring and an arched ceiling with elaborate patterns. A lustrous sconce made of gold is fixed on each pillar, and they light up the entire room with soft brightness. A golden rug runs down from the throne to the doors and is matched by thinner ones on either side of the room while rectangular banners with gold fringes and the royal symbols of Droirusai cover parts of the walls. Between each banner is a sconce; some are lit and in turn, illuminate the portraits of divine beings below them. Tall windows are shrouded by translucent white veils, framed by golden curtains with fancy tassel and fine patterns. A lavish throne of gold sits on top of an elevated platform and beneath an elegant baldachin, and it is adjoined by twelve similar, but less elaborate seats for those closest to the monarch. The throne is covered in holy inscriptions and fixed on the backside is a pair of angel wings. The soft, fluffy pillows are white, and adorned with golden borders and the same patterns as those of the curtains.

Test of the Hianaris Tome

The Test of the Hianaris Tome (Hianaris is a Droirusan word meaning “Blessing to the worthy one”) is used to determine who is worthy to wield a warrior angel’s power. Only those with a pure heart and a good soul can pass this trial. In other words, each contender must have necessary qualities and values to become a warrior angel.

The goal of this test is simple: the contender enters the temple of Purewing Citadel where they must approach King Zeus’ statue, which holds the Hianaris Tome in its hands. From the statue, the former monarch’s spirit will speak, and the statue’s eyes will glow blue, meaning he can sense the contender’s presence before him. He will greet the contender and talk about the requirements they need to become a warrior angel and defeat the Dark Legion. Next, he will request them to touch the Hianaris Tome, so he can read and sense their true soul and heart. If he finds out that they are worthy and deserve the blessings of Faoria and the warrior angel that will guide them, the statue’s eyes change into gold and a Saint Totem is activated, allowing King Zeus to summon an Angel Star via the Hianaris Tome. Finally, he tells the contender that they are chosen to become a warrior angel before giving them the star, and the worthy one passes the test.

If he discovers the opposite, however, the statue’s eyes glow red and Zeus will trigger a powerful discharge of holy magic that repels the contender, resulting from their failure.

Known contenders who passed the test:
  • Mario – Received the red Angel Star and became a warrior angel of fire.
  • Luigi – Received the blue Angel Star and became a warrior angel of thunder.
  • Princess Peach Toadstool – Received the pink Angel Star and became a warrior angel of love.
  • Princess Daisy – Received the orange Angel Star and became a warrior angel of nature.
  • Yoshi – Received the green Angel Star and became a warrior angel of air.
  • Rosalina – Received the white Angel Star and became a warrior angel of the stars.
  • Drew – Received a deep green Angel Star and became a warrior angel of sounds.
  • Mari – Received a dark purple Angel Star with white eyes and became a warrior angel of the moon.
  • Lady Annalina Starwhisper – Received a periwinkle Angel Star and became a warrior angel of the Holy Star. She is the only known character who did so without being associated with the Creed of Faoris (she is the head of the Cult of the Holy Star, a religious and magical order dedicated to the worship of Ishirine, another goddess of light).
  • Valeria – Received the yellow Angel Star and became a warrior angel of earth.

Known contenders who failed the test:
  • Wario – Failed the test due to his greed and other flaws.
  • Waluigi – Failed the test due to his ill temper and other flaws.
  • Donkey Kong – Failed the test due to a lack of qualities. However, Donkey Kong is spared from King Zeus’s divine magic, making him the only known contender not to be pushed away.
  • Bowser – Failed the test after being deemed a true, demonic threat to the Mushroom World. Of all the contenders, Bowser suffered the most from Zeus’s power.

Known monarchs

King Zeus Purewing and Queen Hera Purewing
The former rulers of Droirusai and Faoria’s parents.
King Zeus was the creator of the original twelve Angel Stars and the one who sent them to the first Warrior Angels of Droirusai. In the present-day, King Zeus’s soul is sealed in a statue of himself, which is located at the heart of the Purewing Citadel’s temple, and he acts as one of the hosts for the Test of the Hianaris Tome.

Lady Faoria Purewing
The sovereign of Droirusai and the goddess of light worshipped by the Creed of Faoris. Known for her benevolence, compassion, bravery and heroism, Faoria is willing to protect the Mushroom World and its people (including her faithful) from evil, especially her arch-nemesis Kushadukk.
She resides at Purewing Citadel along with her loyal guards, her servants and her archangels; the latter who were the Warrior Angels of Droirusai and now have their own occupations at the castle. Faoria is referred to as many titles by her worshippers: some of these include Eternal Light of the World, Eternal Light, Light of Lights, Light Goddess, Goddess of Light and Gracious Lady.
An almighty warrior, Faoria possesses superhuman strength that helps her lift foes and objects that are much larger than herself and reduce a building into rubbles. She is also a skilled magic-user, wielding divine powers – which she inherited from her father.
Faoria is a goddess with the appearance of a tall, slender young woman with an hourglass figure, a diamond-shaped face, light skin and sky-blue eyes. Her hip-length, lavender hair is done into a large ponytail completed with a headdress and a Roman-styled wreath. For outfit, she wears a white, floor-length dress with a halter neckline, and golden gladiator boots. Her jewelry consists of a pair of dangling earrings, an armlet around her right upper arm, a choker and bracers. Faoria wields a golden staff with a blue crystal at the top and a matching shield known as the Heavenly Shield. She likes to play the harp, although she usually does so in her free times.
In the prologue, Faoria was the heir to the Purewing Throne. Long ago, she led her angelic army during the first battle against the Dark Legion. After Kushadukk murdered Kai and Aiko in front of her, she was enraged at the sight of it. To avenge her fallen allies, she attacked the demon king and sealed him and his minions into a prison dimension. This led them to become sworn enemies ever since then. Faoria eventually ascended the throne following her parents’ retirement once the menace was over.
She is also the one who chooses and blesses star children. She can also undo her blessing shall a star child or more are corrupted by sins. For example, during the modern/contemporary era of said world, she undid the blessings she granted to Baby Wario and Baby Bowser as punishments for being greedy and causing trouble, respectively. The rest of the star children, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Baby Peach, Baby Donkey Kong, and a green Baby Yoshi, all keep Faoria's blessings thanks to their pure hearts and good intentions, and they grew up with them in their hearts.
In the contemporary era, Faoria realized that the Dark Legion would return – but stronger than they were before – and decided to prepare a set of trials used to determine who are worthy to become new warrior angels with magical powers, but also – and more importantly – qualities and values such as pure hearts and good souls.

Notable other residents

Gallantzard
One of Faoria’s loyal servants and the guardian of the Purewing Citadel’s temple. Gallantzard is an omnipotent warrior angel and one of the wisest individuals of the Mushroom World.
Aside from having white angel wings on his back, Gallantzard appears as a tall, slim middle-aged man with a muscular build, neck-length silvery hair, blue eyes and fair skin. He has a mustache and a short bear. He wears a titanium armor. He wields a broadsword and a shield that has Droirusai’s royal crest on it.

Yuliko
The daughter and only child of Pyrus and Yulikhan, and herself a Droirusan humanoid and angel. Born and raised at the Purewing Citadel, Yuliko was educated by the best teachers of Droirusai. When she learned that the Faoris Archangels were once defenders of the Mushroom World, she once wished to follow their footsteps, but she couldn’t due to her parents being overprotective of her. Despite this, she still has a happy life with her family and their friends, and this goes on even in the present-day.

Warrior Angels/Faoris Archangels

The Faoris Archangels, formerly known as the Warrior Angels of Droirusai and simply as the Warrior Angels, are a group of angels of high rank who are Faoria’s followers. Long ago, they were chosen for their particular talents to assist in the battle against the Dark Legion and helped the goddess to seal them away in a prison dimension to keep them away from the Mushroom World. Following the founding of the Creed of Faoris, the ten remaining members retired from warriorhood and became the Faoris Archangels.
While accompanying and assisting their lady to hear their faithful’s prayers during masses and other days of worship, the archangels are also among the best servants of the citadel.

Sir Pyrus, Archangel of Fire
Pyrus was the warrior angel of fire and Faoria’s second-in-command during the first battle against the Dark Legion. In the present-day, he is the Archangel of fire. In addition, he trains young recruits of the Droirusan Royal Army, and is also the captain of the guards. Pyrus is a kind-hearted and courageous man with a strong sense of justice. Pure-hearted, kind and motherly, she cares for her mistress and the other people she loves. She spends her free times caring for her daughter or, sometimes, strumming her harp. It is implied that her music has other uses such as healing injuries without leaving scars, alleviating both pain and anxiety, curing diseases and resurrecting fallen allies, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
As the warrior angel of love, Yulikhan’s theme color is pink. Her weapon is the Love Staff and she is attributed with compassion. Her special ability is Paralyzer, in which she hits the ground with the bottom of her staff, unleashing waves of pink magical energy that paralyzes her foes. Yulikhan’s pink Angel Star is given to Princess Peach after she passed the Test of the Hianaris Tome.

Lady Sou-Yin, Archangel of Nature
Sou-Yin was the warrior angel of nature and the most agile of the twelves. Today she is the Archangel of nature and the head gardener of the Purewing Citadel. Sou-Yin is very fond of flowers and plants, and she loves taking care of the citadel’s garden. She always wears a necklace given to her by her parents. In her angel form, she lets her braid flowing freely.
As the warrior angel of nature, Sou-Yin’s signature color is orange. Her weapons are a pair of Sunflower Tonfas (which have a nature enchantment in them) and she is attributed with agility. Her special ability is Floral Hurricane, in which she summons a hurricane with flower-shaped cutters. After Princess Daisy successfully passed the Test of the Hianaris Tome, Sou-Yin’s orange Angel Star is given to her.

Sir Yoshunk, Archangel of Air
Once the warrior angel of air, Yoshunk is now the Archangel of air and the head hostler of Purewing Citadel. Brave and honest, he hates lies in all its forms, and will do anything he can to uncover the truth. His current occupation is to look after the celestial mounts in the citadel’s stable, and to lead other hostlers that work with him.
As the warrior angel of air, Yoshunk’s theme color is green. His weapons are a pair of Air Nunchakus and he is attributed with honesty. His special ability is simply known as Tornado, in which he twirls one of his nunchakus to control the wind and summon a powerful tornado. His green Angel Star is given to Yoshi after the latter passed the Test of the Hianaris Tome.

Sir Grokamn, Archangel of Earth
Grokamn was the warrior angel of earth. Today, he is the Archangel of earth and one of Faoria’s strong champions. He leads the elite members of the Droirusan Royal Army.
As the warrior angel of earth, Grokamn’s theme color is yellow. His weapon is the Stone Axe and he is attributed with strength. His special ability is Stone Peak, in which he punches the ground and summons tall rocks that rises from the ground. His yellow Angel Star was originally planned to be given to Wario, but since he failed due to his greed and other flaws, it is instead Valeria who passes the Test of the Hianaris Tome.

Sir Frah’Jin, Archangel of Crystal
Frah’Jin was the warrior angel of crystal. Today, he is the Archangel of crystal and one of Faoria’s jesters. Known for his funny performances in normal times, he often tells jokes and do tricks to amuse his lady and his former comrades when they feel bored.
As the warrior angel of crystal, Frah’Jin’s theme color is purple. His weapon is the Crystal Whip and he is attributed with stealth. His special ability is Crystal Strike, in which he uses his whip to catch an enemy and throw it to others. Waluigi was theoretically supposed to earn Frah’Jin’s purple Angel Star, but he fails the Test of the Hianaris Tome due to his ill temper and other flaws.

Sir Dur’Faha, Archangel of the Jungle
Dur’Faha was the warrior angel of the jungle. While being the Archangel of the jungle in the present-day, his other occupation is unknown, but he is presumably another champion for the Droirusan Royal Army.
As the warrior angel of the jungle, Dur’Faha’s signature color is brown. His weapon is the Volcano Hammer and he is attributed with protection. His special ability is Lava Shoot, in which he fires lava from his hammer. His brown Angel Star was intended to be given to Donkey Kong, at first, but due to a lack of qualities required, he failed the Test of the Hianaris Tome. However, due to his heroism and kind heart, the Kong is the only known contender not to be a victim of King Zeus’s divine attacks.

Sir Bukdhorn, Archangel of Darkness
Bukdhorn was the warrior angel of darkness and the fiercest of the group. In the present-day, he is the Archangel of darkness and one of Faoria’s champions.
As the warrior angel of darkness, Bukdhorn’s theme color is black. His weapon is the Shadow Spear and he is attributed with fierceness. His special ability is simply known as Black Hole, in which he uses his spear to summon a black hole that sucks every enemy that surrounds him. During the Test of the Hianaris Tome, his black Angel Star was initially intended to be given to Bowser, but the Koopa King failed upon being deemed a true, demonic threat to the world. As a result, Bowser was the contender who suffered the most from Zeus’s holy magic and is banished from Droirusai.

Lady Ihn’Jual, Archangel of the Stars
Ihn’Jual was the warrior angel of the stars. Today, she is the Archangel of the stars and Faoria’s trusted advisor. She is the wisest and the most mature of the archangels. She cares deeply for her mistress and is always there to give her advices and comfort her when she feels troubled. In her angel form, Ihn’Jual lets her hair down. She was the archer of the group.
As the warrior angel of the stars, Ihn’Jual’s signature color is white. Her weapon is the Space Bow (a bow with a spatial enchantment) and she is attributed with wisdom. Her special ability is Starfall, in which she fires an arrow to the sky and summons hundred of shooting stars that attack her opponents. Once Rosalina passed the Test of the Hianaris Tome, Ihn’Jual’s white Angel Star is given to her.

Sir Kai, Warrior Angel of Sounds
Kai was the warrior angel of sounds, attributed with justice. His weapons were a pair of titanium sais and a sonic guitar; the latter in which it can destroy entire armadas with the easiest chords.
Along with Aiko, he was one of the most powerful of the twelve previous warriors, but also one of the youngest. Both were killed by the Dark Legion while attempting to deflect a massive blast of dark power intended for them and the other Angel Warriors. A few days after the war, Kai’s corpse was buried at a cemetery in Droirusai.
A memorial of Kai can be found in the Droirusan cemetery, and there is a plaque that reads:
Sir Kai, Warrior Angel of sounds
Attributed with Justice
We all mourned, but your sacrifice was not in vain. Although you're no more, you will still be in our hearts.
May your soul rests in our saint heaven.

Lady Aiko, Warrior Angel of the Moon
Aiko was the warrior angel of the moon, attributed with innocence. Her weapons were a pair of transformable harisens and a giant brush; the latter with which she could copy the ability of a partner she touched for a short time.
Along with Kai, she was one of the youngest and the most powerful of the previous warriors. Sadly, both were killed by the Dark Legion while attempting to deflect a demonic attack. Aiko’s corpse was buried in a cemetery of Droirusai a few days later, after the threat is over.
A memorial of Aiko can be seen at the Droirusan cemetery along with Kai’s. On her tomb, a plaque reads:
Lady Aiko, Warrior Angel of the moon
Attributed with Innocence
We all mourned, but your sacrifice was not in vain. Although you're no more, you will still be in our hearts.
May your soul rests in our saint heaven.
